FREESTYLE CHESS G.O.A.T. CHALLENGE Maria Emelianova_PHC09887 svane ras ootes

WELCOME TO THE WEISSENHAUS CHESS ACADEMY!

Our mission: to discover, promote and support exceptional chess talent in order to make young German players more competitive on the international stage. We want to develop the next generation of top grandmasters who will successfully represent Germany at world level.

The idea for this initiative was born in February 2024 at the WEISSENHAUS Freestyle Chess G.O.A.T. Challenge between Jan Henric Buettner and Vincent Keymer. This unique event inspired us to develop a systematic support programme.

We are aware of the immense potential of our talents. Now we want to help develop it.

SUPPORT:

We are currently nurturing the following talents with passion and commitment:

Vincent Keymer (2004)
Leonardo Costa (2008)
Marius Deuer (2008)
Lisa Sickmann (2010)
Christian Glöckler (2011)
Hussain Besou (2011)
Arian Alloussi (2016)

These young virtuosos are the future of German chess. We are proud to be able to accompany them on their way. Our continued support should help them to achieve their goals. The work of our academy should serve German chess by helping to raise a new generation of top players and role models.

SPONSORSHIP AT HAMBURGER SCHACHKLUB (HSK)

Frederik Svane (2004) and Rasmus Svane (1997), Germany’s strongest chess brothers, are sponsored by the WEISSENHAUS Chess Academy. As Germany’s top two grandmasters, the two have played a major role in the success of the Hamburg Chess Club in the Bundesliga. Both have long since become grandmasters of international calibre, Rasmus even a multiple national player.

Their development is far from complete. The support of the WEISSENHAUS Chess Academy will help them to explore the limits of their potential.

FURTHER SUPPORT:

Niclas Huschenbeth (1992) also has Hamburg roots. Niclas has played for Hamburger SK in the Bundesliga from 2006 until 2012 and from 2016 until 2019. We’re delighted to see him return to his home turf for the 2024/25 Bundesliga season. Known not only as a grandmaster with 2600 Elo, but also as a YouTuber and through numerous media appearances, Huschenbeth will receive support from the WEISSENHAUS Chess Academy to help him become even better.

Frederik Svane, Rasmus Svane and Niclas Huschenbeth will contribute their knowledge and experience as mentors to the young talents of the WEISSENHAUS Chess Academy. They will help the young players to perfect their skills.
